FAQs

What’s the dress code?

Cocktail, but also know it is peak Australian summer and could be around 30 degrees celsius. The ceremony will be outdoors.

Are you getting married in a park? Are there amenities available on-site?

Yes - we are getting married at Governor Phillip Park right in front of Palm Beach, also know as Summer Bay where Home & Away is set and filmed (for the Brits). It’s a beautiful spot with lots of trees and there are toilets within the park area. We will also be serving drinks upon arrival - alcoholic and non-alcoholic options.

What’s the best way to get to the ceremony location?

If staying close by we recommend an uber. There is also a bus service that runs from Manly to Palm Beach that has numerous stops and is a good option. The bus route is the 199, and the closest stop to the wedding ceremony location is: Beach Rd opposite Palm Beach Golf Club (250m walk from bus stop to ceremony location).

Is there parking?

There is parking at both the wedding ceremony location and reception if you choose to drive, however given it’s summer holiday season, we would recommend allowing a lot of time. The closest car park locations for the ceremony is Governor Phillip Park and for the reception Whale Beach.

Will there be buses?

We will have shuttles that take people from the ceremony location to the reception venue. We will also offer a bus at the conclusion of the reception to take people along the Northern Beaches (Palm Beach → Manly).

Do you recommend we stay close by?

We would love for you to make a weekend out of it, but it is not required. We would recommend pre-booked ubers or cars for distances across Sydney. We will have a bus service for after the wedding that will do drop offs along the northern beaches if you don’t choose to stay in Palm Beach.

Are kids allowed?

At this stage, due to number restraints we aren’t allowing kids unless travelling from overseas. Additionally, if you’re a breastfeeding mum or have a baby, then that’s fine. If there’s enough interest, we can work to organise a babysitter to stay nearby.

Is there a registry?

No gift registry, we are all set and just require your company. We will have a wishing well for cards and should you wish to give money, it will go towards our honeymoon.

I have a dietary requirement - when do you need to know by?

Please let Deb and James know if you have dietary requirements we need to take into account by November. Please use the RSVP button to submit your dietary requirement (don’t worry about doubling on RSVPs) or email: debramareehole@gmail.com

Will there be any pre or post activities?

We will be organising a casual pub dinner and drinks at The Newport the evening before (15th of January) for those who are staying in the area. We know many people are travelling from overseas and will organise and plan other activities for those who want to make the most of their time down under.

If we want to take the bus to a location across the Northern Beaches, when should we let you know?

We will get in touch closer to the date to organise, likely November.

What if it’s really hot?

While the ceremony is outside, we will ensure that there is plenty of shade. The area has many trees and we will be providing umbrellas for shade. We will also have plenty of water at the park. The reception is an air conditioned venue.
